The Process

I began by conducting market research to better understand the needs and expectations of their target audience. I polled our client's current customers and held focus groups to learn what they wanted in a fashion sewing app.

Overview

My client is a fashion company (GOGO) that specializes in producing all types of clothing for both men and women. They've noticed that many of their customers are busy people who find it difficult to make time to visit the store to have their clothes sewn. To address this issue, they approached me with the idea of creating a mobile app that would allow these customers to sew their clothes from the comfort of their own homes.

Problem Statement

Many people struggle to complete their daily tasks due to their busy schedule or lack of time. At the same time, there are many people who are looking to earn extra money but find it challenging to find work. The current solutions available in the market are not very efficient, and people find it challenging to trust the service providers, leading to a gap in the market.

  • Visual design

  • Usability testing

Goals

  • To create a user-friendly app that is easy to navigate

  • To provide customers with a seamless sewing experience from the comfort of their homes

  • To ensure that the app accurately captures the customer's measurements and requirements

  • To provide customers with a wide range of fabric options to choose from

  • To ensure that the app is secure and customer data is protected

Research and Analysis

Information Architecture

I created a user-friendly information architecture for the app based on my research. The main screen would include trending designs while the product page will include a list of categories such as shirts, pants, skirts etc.

Wire-frames

Following that, I created low-fidelity wireframes to test our ideas and solicit feedback from my client and potential users. The wireframes were created to make the app simple to use and navigate.

Visual Design and Prototyping

I then created a high-fidelity prototype to show how the app would work and look. I put the prototype through its paces with a group of potential users to ensure that it was user-friendly and met their requirements.

User Testing

I ran user tests to get feedback on the app's functionality and design. Based on the feedback, I made adjustments to the app.

With the app's layout and functionality finalized, we then moved on to the visual design. We chose a modern and minimalistic design style with a green and white color scheme to emphasize the app's eco-friendliness. Below are some screens of the product.

  • User trust: One of the biggest challenges with Taskprox is establishing trust between users and taskers. Users need to trust that the taskers they hire will do a good job, and taskers need to trust that they will get paid for their work. To address this, Taskprox will need to implement features that promote transparency and accountability, such as a ratings and review system, a secure payment system, and a verification process for taskers.

  • Competition: Taskprox will face competition from other similar apps and services, which can limit its market share and growth potential. To overcome this challenge, Taskprox will need to differentiate itself by offering unique features or benefits that other apps do not provide.

  • Limited Availability: Taskprox's success will depend on its ability to attract a critical mass of taskers and users in each geographical location. Initially, the app may have limited availability in some areas, which could limit its appeal and impact on a wider scale.

Challenges and Limitations

In conclusion, Taskprox is a mobile app that connects people who need to outsource tasks and find local services to people who are looking to earn money and are ready to work. The UX design process for Taskprox involved extensive user research, user journey mapping, information architecture, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, and testing and refinement. The app's design and functionality were refined based on user feedback to ensure a user-friendly experience. Taskprox provides a reliable, easy-to-use, and efficient way for users to outsource tasks and find local services.

Conclusion
