A little bit about myself.
My name is Oyadongha Denyefa Melvin, I'm a self taught designer and have learnt a lot of the processes, concepts and theories of UX/UI and product design through attending workshops, Youtube, reading blogs and applying these to projects in my spare time and at work. I am very much a big-picture thinker and enjoy working on products end to end, from ideation all the way to development.
As a committed and goal-oriented product designer, I'm also dedicated to enhancing the user experience while meeting the company's objectives. My approach to design is holistic, prioritizing the needs and preferences of the user to create a seamless end-to-end connection between the product and its audience.
In my work, I utilize the entire UX design process, from research to implementation, to create designs that are not only aesthetically beautiful but also practical and usable. My focus is always on solving problems and simplifying user interactions to make their experience as effortless and enjoyable as possible.
Furthermore, I am a collaborative team player who values open communication and constructive feedback. Additionally, I have experience in designing database models using UML diagrams, which allows me to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the product's functionality and user flow.
My prior BSC in computer science gave me a solid background in coding which I was able to combine with my UX/UI design knowledge. This gave me the ability to communicate effectively with developers and balance my creativity with feasibility.
Designing with the goal in mind
My process has been refined over time to ensure my work goes beyond the visual but solves the user’s problem. I stay flexible throughout the product design journey in order to accommodate the needs of the project and solve challenges as they arise.
Understand
In-depth conversations with stakeholders to dig deep into their vision for the product. This is where the scope and objectives are defined.
Research
Gathering information about the industry and target audience. This is where we identify their pain points and opportunities for the product.

Iterate
Refining the user experience to ensure it aligns with the product vision. This includes a few revision rounds. It also includes validating concepts and ideas.

Delivery of all assets required to successfully launch the project and get it into the hands of the users.

Humans are constant works in progress that need to receive feedback in order to grow. I am always looking at ways to challenge and improve myself, which is why in my spare time I like to work on personal projects to solve the problems around me, read blogs, dabble in new projects and attend meetups.
Embrace your creativity.
Everyone needs a creative outlet of some sort - else, we'd go insane! When I'm not designing, I'm drawing, painting artworks as a form of meditation and helping startups realize their potential with design.
Stay humble.
It doesn't matter whether you're the president, manager, homeless or average kid on the street. Treat others with respect as you would yourself because ultimately we're all human sharing the same wants and needs and facing our own battles everyday. Stay true to yourself and stay true to others.
